Photo Competition and Food & Drink Exhibition

Happy Friday folks – it’s a blog of reminders this week! On some exciting things coming up and our Photo Competition we are running this month:

Photo Competition

We want to kick off this week’s blog with a reminder that we are accepting submissions for our latest Photo Competition RIGHT NOW! So if you’re out and about this bank holiday then get snapping! You can then submit your photo FREE and easily on our website here – https://oakleyvale.com/get-involved/photo-competition/ – or by submitting to our Facebook or Twitter pages.

You don’t have to be a master photographer either! The first winner of our competition earlier this year, Paul Finn, took his winning photo in his garden during the snow after he’d been at home with an injury.

The competition closes on 31st May and we will then pick a winning photo and that photographer will get £50! What more do you need?

Food & Drink Exhibition

Our diet has changed greatly since medieval times.  Food and drink is influenced by many factors over the last 2,000 years.  Every time we come into contact with other cultures, our tastes and styles have changed, forming Britain’s modern multi-cultural cuisine.

The way we eat has also changed over the years.  Knives and forks were not always the popular way to eat as they are now.  This exhibition reveals how the British diet has evolved throughout the ages.

Objects on display include Medieval Stoneware Jugs, Roman Bowls and Ornate Jars from the Corby Borough Council Collection. Please be advised that weekdays, the opening times are 1-4pm, Saturdays 11am-2pm (closed Sundays and Bank Holidays)
