Local students celebrate A-level success!

Happy Friday everyone!

It’s been an eventful week across the country as A-level results finally arrived. There were many nervous and stressed students, and twice as many nervous parents!

Thankfully we only have good news to report! Our nearest school local to Oakley Vale, Brooke West Academy, had another successful year of results. 62 per cent of all entries were graded at A*/A/B, an increase of six per cent from last year. 16 subjects of the 27 offered at Brooke Weston Academy increased their A*/A/B outcomes for students.

A special congratulations has to go to the top performing students, James Walker and Ross Ward, who each achieved three A* and one A grades!

Another nearby school, Corby Business Academy, did well too. The overall pass rate (grades A* to E) was 100 per cent, with 30.3 per cent of students achieving at least three A*-C grades. A huge well done to both schools for their results, and to all those across the region. Next week it’ll be the turn of our GCSE students and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on those in next week’s blog.

Now here’s some fun events coming up in the area this weekend:
